Mae Caa Bakery Cafe, stands in the main street of Monterosso al Mare, in a quiet and secluded location. It was born from the fusion of the life and work experiences of Agnese and Carolina.

Here you can enjoy international breakfasts, burgers, aperitifs, but also excellent artisan pastries. All prepared with fresh, high quality products.

Who are the faces of Mae Caa?

Carolina: a true local of Monterosso, with a passion for travel and food. She gained experience abroad before returning and putting into practice the knowledge she acquired.

Agnese: graduated from the Italian Chef Academy, she works in pastry laboratories in Lucca, her hometown. She continued her training with Masters from all over Italy and also gained experience in Switzerland until meeting with Carolina.

Together they decided to create something new in the Cinque Terre area: a bakery cafe but with an Italian touch, with vegan and gluten free options and a wide choice of coffees and vegetable drinks.

What does “Mae Caa” mean? 

“Mae Caa” literally means “mother dear” in Monterosso dialect, it is a widely used expression to give emphasis to a sentence.

What services does Mae Caa offer?

We start in the morning with the classic breakfast offering a wide choice of pastries and baked cakes, all of our own production. You can also find vegan or dairy-free products.
We also offer international dishes such as avocado toast, eggs&bacon and pancakes accompanied by fresh fruit smoothies and soy, oat, almond or coconut cappuccinos.

We continue our day by serving burgers, salads and bruschetta all with the freshest ingredients, while also trying to offer gluten-free options for allergic people.

Finally, we end the day with classic and non-classic aperitifs and our plates.

We also remind you that at Mae Caa you can order birthday cakes, single portions and assorted pastries for your events.
