Toa degli Aranci is located in the historic centre of La Spezia in the middle of the pedestrian area.

In a warm and familiar environment you can taste typical Ligurian dishes, ravioli with meat sauce, pasta with pesto, testaroli, stockfish, Ligurian-style rabbit and traditional Italian dishes. The selection of grilled meat is very popular.

Everything is accompanied by excellent wine, which has always been a strong point of this winehouse. The wine list is extensive and for several years now has favoured artisanal wines produced by local vintners and from the most important areas of Italy such as nearby Tuscany.
The restaurant has a large dining room with a very original décor and two verandas that are open in summer and heated in winter.

R’ Mazelao

Panigacceria in La Spezia

Opposite Toa degli Aranci is ‘R Mazelao, the butcher’s shop, run by the same owners. ‘R Mazelao specialises in one of the area’s most typical dishes: Panigacci. Originating in the nearby Lunigiana, panigacci are made from a mixture of water, flour and salt cooked in special terracotta pots made incandescent by fire.

They are shaped like small round discs and are eaten with cold cuts. At Mazelao’s the selection of cured meats ranges from the prestigious national cold cuts such as Parma ham,  Colonnata lard, Sauris speck, and truffled mortadella, to more typical local cured meats such as Pignone sausages served raw, to the Val di Vara cured meats: coppa, bacon and soppressata.
Panigacci with nutella is a must at the end of your dinner.
Everything is accompanied by a wide selection of natural wines and craft beers.
