Since 1862, the historic Caffè Pasticceria Canepa has been an excellence recognised in Italy and throughout the world for the quality of its raw materials and for the passion with which it has welcomed its guests into the world of haute patisserie for more than one hundred and sixty years.

With our products we love to celebrate the timeless beauty of flavours and the pleasure of conviviality.

The pastry shop carries on its formula made of first-rate ingredients: love, passion, kindness and the little secrets of the true Art of Pastry.

The specialities of the historic pastry shop are the Cubeletti, shortcrust pastry cakes filled with quince jam, typical of Rapallo. They are the flagship of the artisan production of Pasticceria Canepa, which has been making them since as far back as 1862, faithfully following the original recipe. The delicious Pandolce Genovese is also homemade according to the traditional recipe. Finally, passion and tradition come together in the tasty Colomba Pasquale, prepared in the pastry workshop using only top quality ingredients.





The main location of the business is in Rapallo, in Piazza Garibaldi, under the medieval arcades. Like the small shops of the past, the pastry/grocer’s shop is renowned for its assortment of medicinal herbs, essences for spirits, syrups, wines and fine liqueurs.

The scents of spices such as pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, anise, thyme and juniper permeate the air.

On 1st December 1962, in the premises of the Pasticceria and in the presence of the Authorities, the Postilions of the Ponte S. Luigi stagecoach of Rome celebrated, together with the Canepa brothers, the 100th anniversary of the Italian Post Office and of the Pasticceria Canepa. In memory of this historic event, the Postilions donated to the Canepa Company a Postcard with obliteration, a special seal of the Post Office hundredth anniversary. On 15th  September 2012, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary, the ceremony was repeated with a new postal obliteration that sealed this historic twinning.
