Antica Osteria Al Negrao

Antica Osteria Al Negrao
Inn in a 19th – century farmhouse in La Spezia
The Antica Osteria Al Negrao is located in La Spezia, at the foot of the Foce, in the Chiappa district, on the site of an oil mill that was active in the 18th century. The structure of the inn is that of a 19th century farmhouse, where the commercial activity of the Osteria started almost spontaneously.
The Calzetta family has been running the Osteria since 1950, when Firmino Calzetta bought the licence. Their daughters Enrica and Grazia currently run the business.
The structure of the Antica Osteria Al Negrao is still essentially that of a restored 19th century farmhouse. Today it is a large building with large rooms inside, one with a corner fireplace, and a large, spacious terrace overlooking Via della Guercia.
The Antica Osteria’s menu consists of Ligurian dishes, preferably from La Spezia, such as mesciüa, homemade ravioli with meat or vegetable filling, polenta with mushrooms, gnocchi and Lunigiana’s testaroli served with homemade pesto, pansotti with walnut sauce, spaghetti with seafood, anchovies prepared in every way, stuffed mussels, Ligurian – style rabbit, stewed stockfish, baked salted codfish, casseroled snails, all to be combined with good homemade bread. The wines we serve are those of the past: Cinque Terre and Colli di Luni.
The Antica Osteria Al Negrao is a familiar place, suitable for groups of tourists who want to taste the real cuisine of La Spezia.
